Easy Homemade Tortillas

Taco Tuesday is a staple in our house. I have been looking for ways to continue making items from scratch for our family. Tortillas are a great and easy way to make a switch in your kitchen. With only four ingredients, this one is easy, delicious, and you can use them for many different meals. I have used them for tacos, taquitos, quesadillas, burritos, and I have even used them to make homemade pizzas! Make them and be creative! Let me know what you do with them.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 3/4 cup water

  • 3 tablespoons oil

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Stir in water and oil. Turn onto a floured surface; knead 10-12 times, adding a little flour or water if needed to achieve a smooth dough. Let rest for 10 minutes.

  2. Divide dough into 8 portions. Roll each portion into a circle on a lightly floured surface.

  3. In a greased cast-iron or another heavy skillet, cook tortillas over medium heat until lightly browned, about 1 minute on each side. Serve warm.

  4. Store any leftovers in a breadbox or in a container.

If you make these, let me know! I would love to hear about how it went and what you used your tortillas for!
